Start with the essentials
PreparedCiv Hub organizes household readiness in one place. Begin with a small, accurate inventory: drinking water, shelf-stable food, critical medication and medical supplies, and the equipment you actually use. Add quantities and storage information as you go.
Organize by location
Assign items to meaningful storage locations and containers so that you can find supplies when needed. Review and update quantities after using, moving or replacing an item.
Build household plans
Use household needs and scenario planning as estimates, not guarantees. Check the needs of adults, children and any pets against your actual plans, conditions and medical requirements.
Make manual backups
PreparedCiv is offline-first and does not automatically cloud-sync your inventory. Make a manual backup or export using the app’s available tools, save a copy somewhere you control, and periodically confirm you can find and access it. Avoid sharing a full backup publicly; it may contain household, equipment and location details.
Secure your records
The optional App Lock helps prevent casual access, but it does not encrypt the app database, photographs or exported backups. Use device-level security and protect external copies appropriately.
Keep records current
Review food dates, water amounts, first-aid supplies, equipment maintenance and emergency contacts. Expiration reminders and calculators are aids to your own checks; follow manufacturer instructions and qualified guidance for safety-critical decisions.
